About

Hello, hallo, grüezi!

My name is Kat Zender, and this is my world.

I’m a Seattle-born, German native, studying abroad in Switzerland at Franklin University. I currently live in Lugano, an Italian-influenced town in southern Switzerland, and am majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Germanic Studies.

This blog is here to help me stay connected with my family, friends, and more if it be so. I want to share my travels with you, reflect on my experiences, and show you a bit of my crazy new life I get to create.

A huge part of my life, specifically affected by my choice of major, is to being to life more sustainably. Whether that’s through how I eat, what I wear, or the choices of transportation I use, my goal is to significantly reduce the amount of carbon I put into the atmosphere. While this goal is hard it the long-run, especially as a college student, I want to show if I can make small changes to my life, then so can you.

I hope this blog inspires you to explore new places, feel new emotions, adopt new lifestyles and maybe learn something new.
